Enjoy the bachata ride

How many philosophers say that to achieve the Nirvana you have to love the ride… or something like that.

So that is the philosophy I adopt on a daily basis, especially when I’m dancing. More than once I heard from a dance partner:

-         It’s great to dance with someone that smiles!

Yes, I know, most of the time I just look foolish. But honestly, who cares! Each dance is so much fun I can’t help myself: I end up grinning like an idiot.

After more than a month without dancing due to a fractured arm I started dancing again; while he was moving and swirling me in his arms I said from the bottom of my heart:

- Gosh! How good is to be back dancing! Read more

More than just bachata

March 9, 2009 by Juan Ruiz · 3 Comments

I learnt Bachata in the USA, many years ago, almost a decade ago. The Bachata I learnt was influenced by the Dominicans, Puertoricans, Mexicans and other Latinos living in Chicago, USA. As it probably happened to you as well, I felt in love with the music and I felt in love with the dance right away.

Listening to Aventura’s song “Obsession” or Monchy y Alexandra’s “Dos locos” in the nightclub made me want to grab the first available lady and start dancing close Bachata with her. I learnt the close Bachata movements, I learnt the dips, I learnt the turn combinations, I really thought that I learnt everything that there was to Bachata (Now I know I learnt what is known as Bachata Traditional). New Bachata (int/adv) Moderna Style classes

March 8, 2009 by Juan Ruiz · 1 Comment

To all bachata dancers, have you experienced any of these statements?

  • Bachata is very simple, I don’t need to take classes anymore (or start taking classes)
  • I know my Bachata step, therefore I don’t need to learn new things
  • Is there anything else to Bachata?

bachata classesIf so, then the Bachata Moderna style is for you! We are teaching Bachata Moderna classes at Latin Motion. In this class you will learn how to incorporate the fundamentals of the Bachata Moderna into your Bachata step. We will teach you body movement and turn combinations that you haven’t done before and that are totally leadable!

You will flow with so much easy on the dance floor!

This is the second Bachata Moderna course we run at Latin Motion, the first class was a success and now we have students dancing Bachata Moderna in the nightclubs. Now it’s your chance to learn. Read more
